I would like to request that this comittee write a letter to the Home Depot Corporate office asking if the SCCA Guam Region could use the parking lot of the new Home Depot Store they have on Guam. Maybe they would listen if this is done by somebody from the National office then we go from there. This would be for our first ever SCCA sanctioned event.

Thanks,

Jay

Jay,

The committee is not the National office.  It's a group of SCCA members.

If you'd like some tips/assistance in writing the letter, we can help.  We'll let our chairman get in touch with you via PM.

Hi Jay,

I sent you this as email a few days ago. Did you get this?

Hi Jay,

We have lots of Solo site acquisition information to assist your efforts. The material is in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Do you have these programs?.

One of the most valuable tools, the Solo Sanction Database, must come from the SCCA office. I have copied Nancy Downing  to request she send you the 2007 and 2008 versions. This allows you to sort the 18 different site categories, and to see what regions use these sites.

Thanks for asking, we want to be as much help as possible.

Jay,
In the middle 70's John Scraggs and I started the Sports Car Club of Guam, and put on autocrosses (mostly on the old JFK parking lot, and later on the old airstrip behind Perez Brothers), and we also did one hillclimb at Ritidian Point in 76.
If John is still on Guam (JWS Refrigeration) he may be able to help you get started.
His close friend Tom Hertzlet was involved also.
The drag race guys also started using the old runway at NavSta.
Best wishes,

John Moiseve

Once upon a time in NJ Time Trials and Gymkhanas were held on shopping center parking lots.  Then, in the late 50s NJ decided it was OK for shopping centers/malls to be open on Sundays.  That ended that.  We wound up using paved stockcar ovals, and in one case the motor pool lot at Ft Dix.
