Running an older vehicle in Stock Rear, I have been experiencing a good deal of blue smoke from the tailpipes.  My Saab has over 100k miles on it, and I'm worried it may be pushing oil past the PCV valve.  I have replaced it and i helps, but still burning oil.  My question, is adding a small oil catch can for reliability purposes only going to send me to Prepared Rear?  I'm confident it will help with consumption, and will not added extra performance to stock numbers.

thoughts?

anyone?

Thanks

Alan

A strained reading of the "additions of protective equipment are allowed" allowance in Stock might let you have a catch can, but that is open to interpretation. If you don't want to press your luck, PF is your class.

There is a rule proposal for 2015 that would make catch cans allowable in Stock, and I think that it is a common sense non-performance allowance.

I'd think it would be better to find out where your loosing the oil.

Is it a worn out motor or just a bad turbo?
